Honest Review - GS25 "The Bigger" Richam Tuna Mayo Triangle Gimbap – The Ultimate Salty & Savory Combo?

Welcome back to C-Store Eats! Today, we are reviewing a true heavyweight combo in the Korean convenience store world: GS25’s “The Bigger” Richam Tuna Mayo Triangle Gimbap.

For those who don’t know, Richam is one of Korea’s top premium canned ham brands (think of a slightly less salty, high-quality SPAM). Combining grilled ham with creamy tuna mayo sounds like an absolute cheat code. Priced at 1,800 KRW (roughly $1.35 USD), this jumbo-sized snack promises big flavors. Let’s see if it lives up to the hype!

✨ First Impressions: A Thick Slice of Pure Joy

Priced at 1,800 KRW, it lines up with most premium triangle gimbaps on the shelves today. Since it features a branded ham, the price felt completely fair.

The moment I tore the plastic wrap open, I got a wonderful surprise. I honestly expected the ham to be finely chopped and carelessly mixed into the tuna. Instead, a thick, whole slice of grilled Richam was proudly sitting right inside the rice! Visually, it was an instant win.

🍙 The Taste Test: The Ultimate Ham & Tuna Symphony

Thanks to that solid slice of Richam, the texture of this gimbap is fantastic. When you take a bite, the soft, meaty chew of the grilled ham blends seamlessly with the smooth, creamy texture of the tuna mayo.

Flavor-wise, it’s a beautiful harmony. The savory, salty kick of the Richam is gently wrapped in the rich, sweet-and-salty mayo coating, creating a perfectly balanced flavor profile. It is well-seasoned enough that you can easily crush the whole thing without needing a drink or soup to wash it down.

🌶️ A Tiny Grievance: The 2% Missing Sauce

While the taste and texture combo definitely gets a passing grade, I did notice one minor flaw as I kept eating.

Although the initial sight of the whole Richam slice blew me away, the overall ratio of the filling started to lose against the massive amount of rice as I reached the edges. Because the ham is so substantial, I found myself wishing for just a little extra tuna mayo sauce. A bit more moisture would have made every single bite—from the first to the very last—perfectly juicy and rich.

💡 Final Verdict: A Foolproof, Satisfying Classic

At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with canned ham and tuna mayo. It is a savory, comforting, and incredibly reliable triangle gimbap that will easily satisfy your K-snack cravings.

I recommend this if:

  • You are a massive fan of SPAM/canned ham and love savory, meaty snacks.
  • You want a quick, filling convenience store meal that doesn’t absolutely require a side of ramen soup to taste good!
